Yannis Stergis Bio

Yannis studied Law and Languages in Thessaloniki, GR and Brussels, B, while his LL Doctrine (CrmDr) is in Cybernetics. From 1989 to 2003, he worked for two major International Publishers (Oxford University Press and Macmillan), firstly as an ELT Consultant covering the markets of Northern Greece and Cyprus, then as Commissioning Editor and followingly as Publishing Manager. At the same time he taught English and Spanish as foreign languages to young learners in private language schools in Thessaloniki, Athens and Herakleion, Crete, GR. He also offered his legal and commissioning services to two departments of the EC, representing the EC in more than 70 countries around the globe. He has carried out research on educational materials and given a number of commercial and professional seminars and presentations at major conferences and schools throughout Greece and Cyprus.
He has written and been published (fiction and poetry, as well as ELT and teaching methodology books) and he has cooperated with and contributes articles to a number of regular papers and journals. Yannis is also the co-founder and president of The αriston Project Ltd, a UK based Think Tank that develops, provides and accredits training frameworks for the future of work and Skills 2020. He is the content developer and writer of the renowned courses ROIEDU Biz (for entrepreneurs), ROIEDU Global Skills (for young adults), CERT (for medium business owners) and the Differentiated Instruction in Practice course for teachers around the world. Yannis also designed and commissioned the Young Pioneers programme developed for learners aged 8 to 15, introducing them to vital transferable skills for the future of work, and he is the writer of The αriston Project Codex, a unique reference book detailing a common framework of reference for entrepreneurship. Since 2003, he has been the managing director and president of hyphen, an ambitious company dedicated to inspiring businesses throughout Europe with realism, quality standards and viable practices, as well as producing top quality publishing materials for major international publishers and other multinational organisations. He is married to Emma Parker (co-owner of hyphen) and they have two children, Anna Rachael and Savvas George. Yannis is fluent in English and a confident speaker of Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and German.
